Welcome

Floyd Amateur Radio Society, W4FCV Inc.
Located in Floyd County Virginia.

The Floyd Amateur Radio Society is a 501C3 Not for Profit and ARRL certified Radio Club.  To learn more about Amateur Radio please visit the ARRL web site at https://www.arrl.org and also https://www.qrz.com .  Also if you are just browsing, QRZ’s site has a lot of information that is free to the public.  You can also do practice tests at the QRZed (as it is called) for free.

We are a 501C3 non profit club and are looking forward to proceeding with training and help.

We no longer hold “in-person” meetings, opting instead to meet on air every Tuesday night at 8 PM for our weekly net check-in and general talk.  It’s a good place to conduct any needed business we need to get out of the way.  It also gives us the chance to practice our net procedures in preparations for an emergency.

We are also part of the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES).  This is an emergency response unit for whatever the County needs us to do.  We are “NOT”  first responders. We only go when called and conduct practice drills when we can.
We help any and all Hams in the Community and enjoy doing so.

If you are interested in becoming a Ham, or learning more about our Club, please Contact Us . We will get back to you ASAP.
